Welcome to my corner of the internet.
"I'll stand basking in the beauty and glory of my kaleidoscope femininity."-Vanessa G.
The term "kaleidoscope femininity" came to me in a poem. I wasn't sure where I got it from, and also couldn't confirm if it was something I'd heard before...so I googled it. Nothing really came up. Did I just have a Shakespeare moment and make something up? So far, it appears to be so, which means I get to be the one to define this unique concept.
Kaleidoscope femininity is the idea of embracing and celebrating the diverse and ever-changing aspects of femininity. Just like a kaleidoscope, which displays a beautiful array of colors and patterns, kaleidoscope femininity represents the notion that femininity can take on various forms, expressions, and identities. It's about recognizing and appreciating the individuality and complexity of women and acknowledging that there is no "one-size-fits-all" definition of femininity. It's about empowering women to embrace their authentic selves and encourage inclusivity and acceptance of different expressions of femininity.
As I was working on the final draft of my poem, which to this day still remains untitled, the concept came to me amid a powerful anthem of feminism when fighting against the villain, toxic masculinity. I know there are so many bad feminists out there that have poisoned the term, paired with their over-inflated use of toxic masculinity I'm going to be painted as one of those femi-nazies. I'm not, I am, however, anti-abusive behavior, which was my experience and the inspiration for the poem I wrote. Regardless of whatever words I decide to use, assumptions are like assholes, everyone has them, and I'm sure by this point of my blog post you've made your assumption about me. At one point in my life, I would have cared if your assumption of me was negative, now I don't give a fuck. Empowered, liberated, rebellious, and unbothered are just a few of the colorful shards I've added to my kaleidoscope.
In a world of vibrant hues and shifting light,
Kaleidoscope femininity takes flight.
No boundaries, no rules, just pure grace,
Embracing the spectrum, and finding your own space.
It's strength and softness, intertwined,
A kaleidoscope of beauty, of the heart and mind.
From bold and fierce to gentle and kind,
Every shade of femininity can be defined.
Like a prism, reflecting the colors of the soul,
Kaleidoscope femininity, a story to unfold.
It's about embracing the power within,
And celebrating the journey where we begin.
No two patterns the same, no limits to explore,
Kaleidoscope femininity, forevermore.
With unity and diversity, hand in hand,
Together we'll create a world that will understand.
The poem above is not the poem that inspired the concept. However, at this moment, the poem exposes some very raw and real feelings that I'm not ready to share with the public. I'm even more guarded with my vulnerability than I have ever been in the past, and that poem is one of the most vulnerable expressions I have ever made. The only vulnerability I am willing to share at this moment is the creation of this blog and my declarations for what I intend to do with this little corner of the internet that is mine. I will be using this blog to share different aspects of my life with others. This could include anything but a general outline of subjects might looks like:
- Fashion: My journey into embracing a wider range of styles. I've always mixed and matched patterns, but stepping further outside my comfort zone into more unique and eclectic outfits.
- Beauty: I'm pretty basic with makeup looks, it's laziness more than anything, but perhaps I can talk about my soap-making or skincare routine here? I don't know, just an idea I have floating around.
- Personal Interests: I have such a diverse range of hobbies and interests, and the list is always growing. I've always been a lover of learning, and I love putting my own individuality into everything I do. Music, poetry, books, riding my motorcycle-a bit of everything.
- Leadership: I never shied away from leadership when I was in the military. I lost that somewhere, and though I have no interest in leadership like I did when I was in the military I would like to take on leadership roles when it comes to making positive impacts in charity and interests.
- Relationships: This is an area of my life that has always been so drastically changing. My views on relationships have changed numerous times throughout my life. Lately, I tend to be very inclusive with my connections. In this aspect of my life, I'll share the relationships I have cultivated and how I maintain them in my late thirties because we all have a life and are all busy all the time. Fucking capitalism.
